A blast from the past.

I was lazy last week and got a Chinese takeaway - chicken in OK sauce. I had not seen it for years and it was an old time favourite.

Today I have been to the Asian supermarket and got..... OK sauce, along with a selection of soup noodles - all sorts of exotic flavours: Ramen: Pho; Tom yum; Miso. Heaven!

Guess what's for tea?

No, not fried egg and chips. ;)

I wonder what other favourites have gone missing over the years? At least up here Chop Suey is definitely one, as is Char Sui, and some types of Chow Mein... and never forget egg fried rice.

Depends on your local restaurants and shops I guess.

I have noticed a change in Indian dishes local to South Lincolnshire. They are moving more towards traditional North Indian restaurants than the Pakistani choices most "Indian" restaurants choose. It tends to be hotter, more sour and less sweet stuff.

The only takeaways we ever get is fish and chips, and not very often

I'll have mushy peas and a buttered bap as well.

Once a month from Barnie's on the OAP deal, but with just a few chips. £7 all in.

Can't do proper F' 'n Cs at home but can do a Chinese or a curry. ;)
