An accidental discovery.

Postby Workingman » 26 Jun 2022, 17:42

It is green bin day tomorrow so as I was putting them out I decided to visit a bottle bank with the bag of glass bottles and jars. The big one is at Asda but too far away, another smaller one is at the parade of shops by the primary schools.

As I am posting my glass I am overcome with smells of cooking, of anise, of chillies, of chicken and prawns and mushrooms. To my surprise there is now a Cantonese Chinese takeaway on site, and as I was already there.......

Get this: two large pancake rolls, Kung pao chicken, veg fried rice and a bag of proper prawn crackers all for £8.50. :D

The portions were so generous I could only eat half so the rest will go in the freezer for another day.

:Hi: :Hi:

I really wish we had some decent - any in fact - takeaways here.

We can get something from a restaurant, but by the time we'd get home, the salad, chips and whatever, would be dire.

We're trying to persuade a few of the local Chinese to get some mates over and open a proper chippy

£4.25 for a pre cooked meal. Not bad.

That’s very reasonable Frank!

Chinese is a treat here, it’s got so expensive the last few months. We had one in February and then the next time we had one in May 80p had been added to the things like rice and chips and the mains had all increased by at least £1 each.
