Ding Dong

I have a bell with a loud ring in the hall. I an hear it easily when it is pressed. There is a brass button on the frame for the front door.

Yet many callers seem knock which I may not hear if I am upstairs.
Any body else have this problem

It always amazes me that people knock when they could ring a bell! We are regular victims of people who think it is funny to press our doorbell as they walk by

We had the same when we lived in England Osc :cute: Or they would peer in through the lounge window :cute:

Here, they toot the car horn, as it's considered that property is private and no.one comes in, except by invitation. Even the police, except in an emergency, cannot access your property.

We’ve got a Ring doorbell so it generally picks up anyone walking towards the door and alerts us via the app but we still have people who knock.
The Tesco man this morning did both
I was only the other side or the door too

Karl and Nadine have a ring door bell and it drives me batty that you can hear the bell ring outside as well as inside; I always feel so sorry for their neighbours.

I usually ring a bell first, then if no reply knock in case the door bell is faulty ;-)

Our bell is faulty - when we had the new door fitted two years ago, the guy told us the wires inside weren't long enough to reach the new doorbell but he fitted it anyway, of course the bell LOOKS to be in operation but it isn't.....I got him to come back and fit a knocker on the door, people now knock, but not with the knocker!!!
