I've just seen the news about the terrible floods in Germany. I messaged my cousin Zoe and they're ok, although my cousin J, her brother, has a flooded cellar!

Is it ok where your mom is? ((((x))))

Kaz, thanks so much for asking - yes she is. I also only saw it on the news earlier today so called mom; they had rain but no where near those amounts. Thankfully my sister is further down south and not affected; although they had torrential rain a few weeks back that caused a lot of flooding on roads etc.

Mom was saying that apparently two of the people killed during the floods yesterday were firemen who went to help people - heartbreaking :(

Ria, I read that the main damage was in Rheinland- Pfalz and Nordrhein-Westfalen - the old British Zone. Think Aachen, Cologne (Köln) and Bonn, so I was not that worried about your mum.

However, the storms are said to be heading towards Saarland and Baden-Württemberg later so I do hope sis keeps safe if that is where she is. xx
