Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 20 May 2021, 06:12

Good morning.

Hot and sunny.

No classes this morning as my students are doing exams at their universities.

I'm off for a quick walk, back for a swim then will get ready for work this afternoon.

4 -7 classes then meeting Don for pre-weekend beers and a bite to eat.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely, sunny morning 8-)

We are having the most amazing sunrises at the moment - and then the birds start chattering too. And then the cat howls, wanting to come in

Weeding for me again this morning, after yesterdays day off. Will do around the veggie garden. Also prepping for tonight's bbq and making the last curry before it gets too hot. Not sure what Grumpy will be doing, strimming or cleaning the fence line too.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s a horrible here, rain and strong winds, just miserable :( We are possibly going to Wicklow tomorrow for a couple of nights in Miss Osc and SIL’s house, it would be a break at least. So I might actually need to go up to the attic to get a little case and a toilet bag, oh the excitement!! Of course it’s Thursday, so we’ll have Michael and Kellie later on. Just waiting for the supermarket delivery now, might as well clean the bathroom while I’m waiting.

Hello all

Ally and Jan, we can only but dream of warm weather - it really is just so cold still, not getting much above 16 or so. I'm so done with it!
Osc, enjoy the time away if you do go - will be nice just to have a change of scenery
Saundra, dull and grey here as well :(

Well a usual / usual for me. Neighbour is having a HUGE (and I mean HUGE  ) Leylandii cut down - totally wrong time of year and they promised to look out for nests and other wildlife and I'm on standby to take in whatever they may find and get it to a rescue if needed. If anything it'll be pigeons in the top of the tree.... The tree had to go I do realise that, but wish he'd done it earlier this year

Have a lovely day everyone

Good morning everybody.

There was a lovely blue sky when I got up. But the sun has disappeared and we now have rain.
Have been to have a blood test. Have to make an appointment. But every time I have been recently, I have been told the time is wrong. However I was allowed to go in
after having my temperature checked and my name ticked off on the list. When you get to the waiting area you have to get a small numbered ticket so that you know
when it is your turn. A good system.
Back home after breakfast, I have fitted a new toilet seat. It is a wooden one. It replaces a wooden one which had worked loose and I could not tighten the securing
nuts tight enough to stop it moving.

After lunch will be finishing cleaning the back lounge. Still some skirting boards to do and hoovering. Have decided to have the skirting boards painted
while I away on the cruise in July.
Have a good day everybody

Morning all :D

Dry, but very dull and overcast

Ally and Jan wish you could send some warmth over here, getting really fed up with our weather.
Hope you don't need to rescue any birds Ria.
Sounds like you're keeping busy Cruiser, you must be looking forward to your cruise.

Not much happening today, expecting a Sainsbury's delivery later and that's about it.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good afternoon all.
Rotten weather here too. Grep, cold and raining steadily.
We have been to the tip and got rid of the last of the old carpet and the offcuts of the new one.
We have also decided to chuck our old table out and get a new one. The old one is made out of reclaimed oak and is very heavy. Unfortunately it wasn't particularly well made. Big heavy legs held on by weedy coach bolts meant that it soon went unstable and wobbly.
So we now have a plastic bbq table up as a temporary replacement.
The Grimsby fish seller has just been. In this weather I think the fish could have swum all the way here from Grimsby.
Have a good day all.

Afternoon all :)

It poured with rain this morning, and was very windy on my way up to D's, to go shopping. It's blown over now, and the sun's out! Sainsbury's was very quiet, so shopping went very quickly for a change. Becky got home from her dad's at lunchtime, but has gone to Cheltenham for an appointment. We've heard that the sale of Mick's aunt's bungalow has finally gone through - almost two years after she died! There's been all sorts of hassle over all this, but hopefully it's coming to an end now 8-)

Take care everyone :) xx
