Talking about vestal virgins....

Postby Osc » 03 Dec 2012, 22:19

...and not wanting to hijack the bathroom thread - we were at a funeral the other week and the priest talked about the parable of the vestal virgins. However, they have suddenly become bridesmaids   and no mention of their virginity at all :D :D I talked to him briefly afterwards but didn't have the bottle to ask when they became bridesmaids as opposed to vestal virgins!! I suppose it might be difficult to find a virginal bridesmaid these days ;)

Also did you know that the Pope has said there is no evidence that there were any animals in the stable where Christ was born - he will be saying there is no Santa next

It is sad when people who should know better demolish our old ideas.

I supose we should try to keep up with the times but the magic of Christmas is something we should try to preserve for the sake of young children.

Childhood doesn't seem to last very long nowadays, does it ?
