Good afternoon all, it's dull but milder here today.

I've been to Stafford this morning. It's my Dad's birthday tomorrow and I've been trying to think of something to get him but gave in and phoned my Mom yesterday to see what she could suggest (I'd planned to buy him a DAB radio but he went and bought one just two weeks ago!). All she could think of was a new polo shirt, with a pocket for his bus pass if possible. I couldn't find a normal polo shirt with a pocket anywhere though so just got him a plain mid-blue one from M&S. They did actually have one with a pocket but it had a button down collar which he doesn't like! Got him a box of toffee from Thorntons too. Couldn't find anything for John for his birthday on Monday though but I bought some nice toiletries from M&S for mother in law. I'll have to go somewhere next week and pick up a few cheap bits for Joe but he's been told that he's not having much as he's having a block of driving lessons.

Di, I can't mention my parents without Billy running to the door

Kaz, how very sad. I hope the funeral goes as well as it can xx
