Don't believe all you read or hear!

Postby Osc » 02 Mar 2017, 22:49

We got back from Benidorm last night, and we were beyond pleasantly surprised! Benidorm was not what we thought it would be at all. We really had a lovely time (sunshine :D :D :D ) and loved the place. I would imagine it might be a nightmare in high summer, but at the moment it is mostly *cough cough* mature *cough cough* people like ourselves (you do have to be careful of speeding mobility scooters ;) ). There are glorious beaches, our hotel was beautiful with lovely food, the resort is spotlessly clean. We had a great rest, plenty of walking and some dancing too. It was wonderful to meet up with Bicky from Femail and her husband Juan - only met her once at a Brum meet so it was lovely to meet her again, and find she was just the same. I would be very surprised if we do not go back :D :D

My ex FIL and MIL used to go for three months in winter when Tjaerborg (sp) offered long stays in aparthotels. There were bridge clubs, dances, afternoon teas..... and it was cheaper than staying at home.

They loved the place, but did say all the signs were there for the summer holidaymakers, which they avoided like the plague.

It sounds great Osc, really glad you had such an enjoyable time :D

Frank, my Nan used to go away to Spain or elsewhere with Saga, for the whole of January. Like your parents, she found it cheaper than staying at home! :o :) 8-)
