Just had a nice shock

Postby cromwell » 15 Feb 2013, 20:28

If there is such a thing.
Our local paper posts 'nostalgia' photos every week.
In this week's issue there is a photo of the West Riding Police cricket team in 1957; and there, right on the end of the front row, is my dad.
Quite moving, really.

Really Cromwell, how lovely!
My dad would have been playing cricket in Lincs/Notts/Yorks up until 1955, when he was a policeman. He and Mum moved down south after that.

Yes, it was nice. The gentleman who sent the photo in is asking for the names of the players, so I'll drop him a line via the paper.

Oh how lovely. I always look at the nostalgia pictures in our local paper hoping to spot my mum or dad
