Morning all, although it will be afternoon by the time I post  It was sunny earlier but has clouded over now and is quite cool in a firm breeze - hopefully the same breeze will dry the double load of washing I have out. Saundra, I have already fought one duvet and am just about to fight the bigger one. Lots to do today as my only free days this week are today and Thursday before we head off to Blackpool on Friday. Enjoy your day everyone :)

Hello everyone, I'm another poorly - I have caught some of Tom's illness, I am coughing so much I have a sore tummy as well as throat, no sleep (coughing constantly isn't very sleep inducing) for the second night so I am as rough as can be :( GP tonight after work....we seem to live there lately!

Hope your swelling goes down soon, Ria, how odd the anti histamine's didn't work :?

Have a good day all xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Ria, that sounds very odd, and strange that the antihistamines didn't help! Definitely see the doc if it doesn't improve ((((x))))

Jen, your day with the family sounds lovely, and a great idea to have an early birthday party! :D 8-) 8-)

Suff, I hope something turns up soon, work wise! xxxxx

Hope you feel better soon Saundra :( ((x))

You too Gal! xxxx

Ton, take it easy in that heat! I saw something in the press about the extreme temps out there! xxx

Well I've had a lovely day so far, really enjoyed wearing my new shoes (thanks Jo :D lol ) in fact a lady waiting to cross the road next to me, said "Ooh I do like your shoes!" 8-)  Great news at the scales, I think upping the exercise is doing its magic, as I lost 2.5lbs :D Then a really nice mooch round the shops with Emma, after a sarnie in M&S - I bought a new shell top in Peacocks for £6, then found a lovely necklace in Debenhams, silver (not real though) for only £12.50, a good quality bra for a fiver, and then best of all a lovely snuggly 'onesie' to put away for C*****mas for B for £8.40 in the 70% off sale

The sale rails are heaving down there, E had to shoo me out before I spent any more money  :P   Oh and the sun came out at lunchtime and has stayed out, it's a beautiful day again 8-) 8-)

Got to get my head into 'work' mode in a minute, and do some prep for Wednesday.

Well the good news is that the swellings have gone down considerably; you now need to know / look close to notice a difference. It is rather odd but does fit all the signs of what they call an angiodma. Chances are I'll never find out what triggered it but I'll make sure I have a copious supply of antihistamines to hand because I do think that they may have prevented it from getting worse.

Now hoping that the other poorlies here feel better soon as well

Kaz, good shopping bargains there!

The pool will do it every time. I was in the pool yesterday. After having sat outside in the blazing blue sky without a cloud, for an hour, stripping, cleaning and rebuilding the motor for the pool hoover. I took my T shirt off for half an hour and the wifebeater (I really hate that name), marks are starting to blend in now.

Needless to say the motor is gubbed. When I got it apart I was covered in carbon which means the brushes are gone. I wouldn't mind so much if it were not for the fact that it cost €500.

When all those old people died in the Bordeaux region in 2003 it became apparent that even the older French had no clue about heat management and cool showers and not towelling off if you don't have a pool. It wasn't the heat in the day (over 40c for weeks), that did it; it was the 30c heat at night and the inability to get away from it that really did for them. Our bedroom wall was hot to touch at midnight and never really cooled overnight. Now it's insulated so the room doesn't get so hot.

Ria, glad to hear that. Time to time something like that happens to me and I'm usually away from home in rented accommodation or a hotel. Horrible.

Huge fire not too far away - well, not within smelling distance, anyway. Black sky tonight.

And there are some insane people who actually enjoy and light these fires
