Good morning all.

It's raining here this morning, but it didn't stop us having a walk.

Fingers crossed for Becky's driving test.

Hope you all are feeling fine.

Evening everyone.

I was walking in the hills with my Niece yesterday. 21 miles and 1000 meters up and down. Made one Munro and did a bit of map reading and bearings whilst we were up there.

Today I'm fairly sore but not bad. Tend to seize up when I sit for too long. I was late up this morning and no time to come online really and last night I just fell into bed.

Really good bit was that I had brand new boots from Trespass. I bought their anti blister socks with a large part of scepticism. But, here I am today, with no blisters. Very good walk except the feet didn't like the sole of the boots and were really pretty sore by the end.

Hopefully the boots just need wearing in Suff, those anti-blister socks are really good.
I do some product testing for Tesco and was sent some. Ally may remember I wore them for our lovely long (flat!) walk along the Malaga coast, I was impressed, not that I tend to get blisters but they were notably comfortable.

Sitting too long is never good!
And how was your niece today?

Her mother tells me she's SORE.... Which does my ego the world of good...

I think my feet just need to be used to being more restricted. We'll see. More walking soon. My GCC step PB is now just short of 48,000 steps in a day. Personally I think that carrying a 20kg pack (16 on the way back without water), plus the 1,000m up and down, should qualify me for 90,000 steps. But... It's good enough...

Certainly gives me a little bit of pride back. She went up that mountain like a bat out of hell and right at the end was pushing along the last part of the road faster than my body wanted to move....

Mind you when she tried to lift my pack she couldn't.. So I guess I should not feel so bad. I don't like going on the Scottish mountains without extra clothing, hot liquid and the ability to make more hot liquid.
