Tv problems

The remote on our TV stopped working so we bought a new remote. Not cheap considering the TV is only four years old.
Took the original remote to a local computer repair shop. He took it apart, reso;dered some of the connections and it is now working correctly. Only charged £10.00. So now we have two working remotes.
