Thanks everyone - I'll be calling a local Aerial company on Monday and see if they can come out to externally run a second cable from the aerial to the front of the house; drill through the wall and install a 2nd aerial socket.

fingers crossed it won't cost an arm and a leg but hey - it'll pay of in the long run I'm sure :)

A flat we had in Sydney, they used a flat coax cable that tucked along the edge of the wall just under the carpet (sort of). You couldn't see it. They ran it from across the hall outside the flat under the door and into the lounge. It was a 5th floor flat (of 7) with internal concrete walls, so really was the only option.

I think I remember G mentioning something about if you add a splitter you reduce the signal strength down both cables. If you have a good signal this shouldn't be a problem but maybe something to ask.
