A "Good News" Christmas story

Postby Workingman » 23 Dec 2015, 21:05

Emma is three. Her pregnant mum fell down the stairs, so Emma phoned 999.

Here she is talking to the emergency services.

What teamwork! Emma got an award.

A big "Well done" to Sarah for keeping her so calm and controlled.

I was amazed, too, when I saw it on the tele tonight.

Credit must be given to her parents too, for bringing up such a sensible little girl.

Oh what a clever little girl!!! :D

So glad Mum and baby were ok, I fell down the stairs when I was expecting Christopher - from about halfway down, straight onto my stomach and skidded right across the polished hallway floor! Totally unhurt, as was he  Talk about lucky........

I thought that the call handler was excellent.

She kept Emma engaged, did not panic her, and got her to do the right things to keep mum safe. She was equally a star in my mind. She was so calm and 'conversational' in order to keep three yr-old Emma concentrated on the basics without scaring her.

Such a great result all round.

She was great, they get excellent training - one of Mick's old rugby friends is a police call handler :)

I bet her mum is proud of her. What a bright little girl; and yes the call handler did brilliantly too.
