We're home

Had a lovely, lovely time :D Weather was lovely too, although a leetle bit chilly at night - but was well warmed up with madrona last night

Visited a few more villages, discarded a couple and added a couple to this list of lovely places to live.

Met the people whose house we looked at last year, had a coffee with them at their place, they've now dropped their price again, but it's just not right, so won't be buying it.

Found the most fabby restaurant. They couldn't do enough for us, probably because we were the only one's eating there  Grumpy had the mistas, which was three different types of pork, cooked over the coals and I had the most ginormous lump of beef  Vast amount of salad and chips, olives, bread, cheese, wine, coffee, brandy. 21.90 :o

Last night had chicken - a whole one, cut up, with salad, chips and the wine, coffee, brandy, olives for 19.00 :o :o :o

And they didn't want to accept the euro change as a tip, but I insisted, so out came the madrona  We stayed there for ages, chatting

It's very very basic and I don't think they've had any furriners in there before, as it's off the beaten track a bit, but will definately be going back.

Oh and we got kisses when we left and also the recipe she uses for the piri-piri (lethal that stuff, lethal  )

And the monthly market was in town this morning, so had a wander around there, tried some smoked presunto, bought some cheeses and a handbag  .

Took us an hour and a half to get home and we also had 15% discount at the hotel. :D

You carry on Saundra, I'd be the same

No news. Don't know if they liked the house or not, but they thought our bedrooms were better than our neighbours - I heard them when they were upstairs  - and I don't know if they have to sell their apartment to buy somewhere else or not.

Hopefully, Dirk will contact us sometime- but maybe not, this is Portugal
