Exactly Di. I don't have a problem with the no jeans rule - in fact I was surprised to see them on the kit list.
But because they were on the kit list we decided that we didn't need a shopping trip to buy anything else. And then with 10 days to go they announce that sorry, no jeans.
It wouldn't be a problem if we weren't so busy this weekend (though I'd still be cross at the last minute change) and they are at school until next Friday - L will finish school at 3.3pm on Friday and has to be at camp for 5.30pm so no time to go shopping in the week either. Its not like we have clothes shops on our doorstep to just nip to after school.
Fortunately I managed to get leggings in Sainsburys otherwise I would have had to take an afternoon off work to go and buy something but without L with me which would have been pretty pointless in case it didn't fit!
I have made my feelings known to the guide leaders about being told that they made a mistake on the kit list at such a late stage!
They had already annoyed me by telling us (on the kit list) that the girls needed a 6ft x 6ft ground sheet/tarpaulin to wrap all their bedding up in each day. So I bought the 6ft x 6ft ground sheet. Only for L to come home on Wednesday night after bedding wrapping practice to be told that the ground sheets were a bit too small and could we buy 7ft x 7ft ones. Erm - no!
