Afternoon all, we were up and out quite early today. It's a gorgeous day, exactly as forecast, used our new clothes line for the first time which was fun
We went into town as there was an event going on, starting a year-long build up to the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising in 1916. Lots of people dressed in Edwardian clothes, a big department store had some of their windows displaying goods they would have had in 1915. There was a big carousel, a steam train, a music hall stage with various acts, a photographic exhibition. There were also lots of talks and lectures in various venues but we just wanted to get a flavour of the whole thing so didn't bother with any of those. It started at 11am, O'Connell St., (Dublin's main street) was all closed off for it - we were there before 11.30 and the crowds were already really big. We got a bus home around 1.30 which took ages because of traffic out to Howth, so we made a note for the future - bus into town, train home!
Quiet evening ahead, we have some recorded stuff to catch up with. Hope everyone is having a nice Easter Monday
