Remember "The Letter"?

Postby Workingman » 20 Mar 2015, 13:17

This morning there is a knock on the door.

"We are starting the work today..."
"Oh, right, it's nice to be told"
"Did you not get the letter?"
"Yes, but it did not say when. I rang and was told it was in planning and we would be told nearer the time"
"And that never.."
"No, it never, you are the fist clue we have had"
"*&£^! Typical, sorry about that"
"No problem..."
"So, can we move your shed, we need to dig up the plinth, and we need to gain access to your meter, please?"
"Yes, of course, but what are you doing?"
"Replacing the old ironwork and putting new plastic pipes behind a shield on the wall...."

So here they are a hammering and a drilling and a pushing and pulling. It's a good job it has turned into a nice sunny day now that the 'hidden behind the clouds' eclipse has finished because I have no gas for heating or cooking.

Just this minute reconnected. Now I have to put all the stuff back in the cupboard, which means cleaning it first, which then means cleaning the kitchen..... So I might as well do the whole flat this weekend and have done with it. :o

They will not be allowed in, Saundra, as they are filling in the blurdy great hole they dug to replace the outside pipe.

And well spotted the Ostrich.... two birds with one.... and you are in my sights. ;)

You certainly have more than your fair share of inconvenient happenings, Frank.

But Spring is here, so they say. Things can only get better.

Keep smiling.
