Me and my big mouth

Postby debih » 20 Dec 2014, 00:19

We've been out with friends to get. Usual Friday nght crowd, usual venue.

We got to talking about what we were doing on New Years eve. We want to go to the pub for midnight (they do fireworks and stuff) but all agreed we didn't want to go all night and thought an 11pm arrival would be perfect.

But what to do for the rest of the night?

That'll be me cooking for 10 of us then!!!!!

Could you not have everyone bring something Debih...say, a chillie, a chicken tray bake, a pasta dish, salad, dessert, cheese and biscuits, etc.

Just plonk the lot on the table, everyone sitting round, drink flowing and getting the NY started in a right jolly way. :D 8-) :P

Actually I'm really looking forward to it.

There's only going to be 8 of us now.

I'm going to do the main course (probably roast lamb on Boulanger potatoes as it cooks itself), the others are doing starters, puddings and cheese.

It is my turn to host - we go round each other's houses every other month taking it in turns to do each course. And although it's my turn we did decide as this was an extra one it didn't have to go in order. But I thought as the house will have been cleaned within an inch of its life for xmas and the relatives then I may as well do it here.

And we are at mums on New Years day so I don't have to cook the following day.
