Dare I ask

Postby meriad » 01 Jun 2015, 12:44

My laptop is getting old and playing up more and more so I just treated myself to a new tablet... (as you do   )

When led me to think and ask... Is there any thought of VV becoming web or app based (not sure what you'd call it) so it's more mobile / tablet friendly? Just thinking because I tend to have my phone with me all the time and it'd be nice to have VV slight more accessible when I'm out and about vs having to wait until I'm either home or at work and have access to a proper computer. And esp now with summer fast approaching and me being out in the garden more, I hardly switch on the computer. But it's quite difficult to access VV via the phone. Haven't tried via the tablet yet but still figured I'd ask because there are so many things I miss and then feel really bad about, someone not well, a birthday etc...

   xxxxxx

Ria Mick did look at this a while back, when (I think) Debih suggested it, and said no go, but someone since has suggested we look at Tapatalk so I will ask him again, as it is a good idea 8-)

Ria, you might need to download a browser app for Android, assuming the tablet OS is Android. The most popular appear to be Chrome, Firefox Mobile and Opera mini.

Have a look here for some suggestions.

Kaz, re Tapatalk. Isn't a browser still needed?

I use Tapatalk for another forum and I have to admit that if I am on my tablet I spend more time on that forum than I do on this one because its just easier than using the web (or Safari as my ipad likes to call it)!

I use Tapatalk from an app I downloaded on both my phone and my tablet.

Frank, it's a Samsung Tab and comes with both Chrome and explorer installed so I do have the browser app :)

Kaz, it would be interesting to see what Mick says / thinks. And I know I'm being totally selfish by asking but it would make my journey home a lot nicer :D

:D It's ok, we've been asked a few times now, so if it's possible for this forum it would be good to add it 8-) ;)
