I liked this, but......

I love it that productions are taken out of London and into other cities, about time, but why do we have to have the same old faces? And shouldn't the production teams get the locations reasonably right? Robin Hood's Bay is a closed cove, it's not an open beach!

I'd read the book which was really good, but decided to watch and did enjoy it; since it did say it was 'loosely based on' it was fairly close.
But I did get a bit lost with where Tracy/Victoria Wood was supposed to be. She had said about going to Robin Hood's Bay, but not sure that was where she was at the end
But I thought that was just down to the bacardi & coke

I hadn't realised that this had been a series last year and his daughter had gone to live with mother. He had been taking the daughter on cases with him. Right at the end it suddenly clicked.

It was good, but I did get a bit confused with a few details here and there - but maybe that was just me.

It was a messy script, lack lustre acting, tedious, preposterous storyline and utterly forgettable TV experience.

Appalling Doesn't help that Jason Isaacs looks like one of our regular cab drivers-and he's boring too.

I liked the books, but gave up on the TV version last time and have no desire to try again

It was pretty convoluted and you had to "fill in the gaps" quite often to keep up with the plot - but the worst facet of it, in my opinion, was the indecipherable Scottish accents - (sorry, no offence to our Scottish members intended).

To be quite honest with you, it spoilt it for us, and if they are going to pursue these Glaswegian/Edinburgh located series, they should really start putting up subtitles like they do with the Nordic dramas.

Well, I watched it on my laptop and put the Subtitles on which helped loads but still didn't make it any better. Made it worse really because then I knew what rubbish lines the poor actors were spouting.
