Given there was not much else on I thought to give it a view thinking it would be over in a few minutes.......the 80's didn't have that many decent songs. Did it?
Two and a half hours! It was so bad I had to stick with it - a synth, new wave, bubblegum, middle-of-the-road, new romantic mix with a few 'oddities' - Joe Dolce anyone? And my God the OTT effusiveness and wokeness of the commentating Slebs made it so much fun! Priceless!
But I actually enjoyed it as it was a right laugh, and also for the mention of the few real gems - Europe, Dire Straits, Police, Robert Palmer, Band Aid, UB40, Simple Minds, Guns n' Roses.....
At least rap and what they now call R&B wasn't on the scene.
But in answer to my original question. If they were the top 50 the answer is: No!
Wham - Last Christmas as number one, do give me a break.
