Check out Tom Kerridge's restaurant website. It's not overly expensive.

I like Tom Kerridge too.

Mick thinks he is great and that would be his first choice of restaurant.

His prices are much more reasonable. Maybe after I've saved my adoption panel money for my food mixer I could start saving up for a night at his pub. £190 for the night plus dinner. Pricey but not ridiculous.

Just watched Heston on iPlayer and had a grin on my face all the time. The important thing was not only was it so clever, it all tasted so good because look how long that sack of onions was cooking (96 hours) to get that concentrated caramelised result in a jug! I love the idea of sounds and smells heightening the other senses.

We went to a restaurant on Sunday for a meal. It was all very beautiful on the plates with little jelly cubes of this, and dots of that, smears of this, crispy bits of the other but it lacked in taste. It looked like designer food at twenty pounds and more for main courses and in a fabulous listed building with opulent surroundings but like Greg and Michel say 'They didn't feel the love' and 'Not excited'

If you saw the photos we took you'd probably say that it all looks gorgeous, and it does, but the food photographed better than it tasted. That's my moan about expensive eating places these days, they spend more time planning how they place the ingredients on the plates rather than focusing on the Wow Factor in the mouth.

Heston does both.

Lovely website Nanna and worth saving up for Debbie. Most places like Tom Kerridge do mid-week off season deals for dinner and a room. Fischers at Baslow Hall near you does. We've only been to places like that off-peak and mid-week for the luxury and the experience.

Well who would have thought that! Glad to see some programme organisers have common sense.

Felt so sorry for the other one though...........isolated and sad.

It was brill :)
I had kept saying 'Anton - oh, but what about Keri - noo Keri - oh no, it has to be Anton - or maybe Keri' :D
Loved Oli, but blimey, he's only 22, and what a lovely attitude he had :)

Fugi we very rarely eat out properly around here.
We've been to a good few very expensive places, courtesy of our lovely friend and her husband who sadly died, but always felt let down. Not helped by the fact that she and I have birthdays in January but I've always believed that should not be any excuse, after all as many people have birthdays then as any other month. And the restaurants charge just the same :o
