Spoiler alert!

Christine has gone.

No surprises there, but to award Ruby as 'Star Baker' was a bit odd, imo, She was pretty average in the first two challenges, and her 'Show stopper' looked a bit 'rustic' when compared to the presentation of others. I had thought, from earlier series', that all aspects of the show stopper were considered - including presentation..

Yes, Christine as predicted - she wasn't good enough too many times.
I guess it showed technical bits WM, it did look good though. And Ruby is quite amazing, she's done all this without proper equipment, doing her exams, etc. She's obviously a very natural cook.
But I thought the judging terribly harsh, for instance that cheeseboard looked fantastic to me, they said it was 'simple'!

As for the guitar, please don't anyone judge it against mine, which to be fair I always said just had to look like his real one - and to taste good. But if you're doing a real, special cake, then the appearance goes a long way.
Bought ones from eg Tesco can look good but to eat? - pretty disgusting

I like Kimberley, but also like the others. Looking forward to next week :D

Ruby irritates me intensely!! All that "poor me" stuff, drives me nuts and I don't think it's all genuine - like tonight when she broke the bowl on the mixer "oh no I feel terrible, I'm not going to be able to cook any more, oh dear I'm so sorry" and then gets Star Baker  I have to say, we keep shouting at Frances to stop all the extraneous decoration, and it really backfired on her tonight (the decoration, not our shouting!). She needs to realise that sometimes less is more. I like Kimberley I must say.

Ruby is driving me mad. I wanted her to win but now I just want to slap her.

I've always wanted to slap Frances.

I want Kimberley to win - that toadstool was fab

We were quite flabbergasted when Ruby got star baker :? :? :? Actually we really liked her at the start of the series, but boy is she irritating us now

Poor Christine, her guitar looked fabulous, but it was her time to go.

Awe, you lot are so unfair. I like Frances. She is the antithesis of sleb Masterchef and proof that just because it looks good doesn't mean it will taste good. That's why she won't win. :-P

I can't understand why I keep referring to Kimberly as Katherine.... a suet brain might be the answer.

Beca - the dark horse. Her "Show stopper" was by far the best the other day.

Nah, he's not that daft - besides, Mary is a judge too ;)
Ruby irritates me but I have to admire her, she's very young to be so good. I don't want her to win though :D

You think not Di? :D With his track record and is susceptibility to a pretty face I'm not so sure. Mary will keep his feet on the ground though.

I only came to Bake Off half way through so I haven't got their names fixed in my mind, but I like Ruby despite her fluttering lashes and I was so disappointed when Glenn went out, though I didn't see that particular episode so I don't know where he fell down. The toadstool and cheeseboard cakes were fantastic.
