I do remember seeing some lovely beach shots...but I was too engrossed in Mr Tennant. (And the storyline!)

Shell..I've just seen by a fb friend that it was filmed in West Bay, Dorset.

I live there Ally and saw them filming. It is beautiful but haven't watched it yet and like miasmum I find David Tennant a most distracting actor-don't enjoy watching him at all but will because of the location. Going to watch it later today.

... it seems they are trying to follow the Nordic way of doing detective dramas and keeping them slow, dark, moody and the eight episodes are based on just the one murder rather than a new one every week as in Midsommer or Lewis.

I don't do 'cosy' either Fugi, I prefer the new Scandinavian style. I thought that the first episode did just enough to keep viewers involved. It started to build the characters and all their other 'back' stories.

My one BIG gripe was the positioning of the boy's body. It was way too far away from the cliff for a push or a jump... even an Olympic long-jumper could have not got that far!

Ah WM! The police said there was no sign of trampling on the grass on the cliffs and the projectory was wrong so he didn't jump off or was pushed off. Doesn't mean to say he was murdered on the beach either. A few upset families here though because a young boy the same age as the victim in the Broadchurch drama was found dead on those cliffs earlier last year from natural causes.

So all the beach and cliff scenes and anything with seagulls screaming were filmed where I live but all the town/city scenes were filmed in Bristol.

I got over the Tennant thing by not looking at his staring eyes. Sorted! I enjoyed it and hopefully it'll stay dark and not get silly?

I enjoyed it too. Enough going on for us to be asking each other questions afterwards which is always a good sign
Are you allowed paper rounds at 11? What was the other boy deleting? Et cetera...
