Strictly week 3

Postby miasmum » 13 Oct 2013, 00:30

Well Natalie was good, but I can't warm to her, the same as I could never warm to Kara Tointon. Technically perfect, but personality zilch.

I loved Ben's Rumba. You always know a rumba is good when you think, "if I was his wife, I'd kill him"

I think Robin must be a fantastic teacher as Deborah really made me smile, in the same way as Mark Benton does. Sheer enjoyment

Wasn't so keen on Sophie this week, thought she was a bit wooden.

Dave made me howl with laughter, but he is definitely going down the same road as John Sargeant, Anne Widdecome et al

Liked Patrick this week, Ashley and Rachel, but Ben was my favourite

Vanessa or Julian to go.

I agree. Ben was definitely the star of this week's show. I can't stand the Hairy One and he's not much good at the dancing so I think he should go. Julian was better than last week, but that wouldn't have been hard and Vanessa is just annoying. IMO. :D

For some reason, I'm finding it hard to engage with Strictly this year - maybe because so few of the original pros are left and I still haven't got to know the new ones. Len's judging was very strange :? Sophie wasn't as good this week, enjoyed Ben's rumba and the Hairy Biker made me laugh, well at least he is trying hard and seems to be really enjoying himself.

I agree that Len's marking was a bit weird this week, and it left me wondering about "favourites".

Sophie has this "poker face" when she's dancing (I think she's just concentrating!) - it worked as the flapper girl in the Charleston, but not so good this week as folk have said.

Not over-keen on Ben's performance, I thought the rumba was a bit hyped at the end of the day.

Loved Dave Myers; must say I thought that paso doble was a brilliant effort, and deserved a higher score!!

I know what you mean about warming to Natalie, but for me, it was the best dance on the night.

Its perfect Ossie, but I have the professionals for that, I want to see the celebs learning, not starting off brilliant. Defeats the whole point of the show for me. It sort of feels like "ok, give her the glitter ball, now lets have a competition for runner up"

Did Len give anything but 7's? That's getting as annoying and predictable as Brucie's jokes.

I'm struggling with the female pros Osc, the men not so much as only Vincent missing. I found that hard when they sacked Matthew, Ian and Darren.

That said I do like some of the new ones, I thought Erin was getting a bit bored, not keen on Natalie, but I do miss Flavia. I loved Katya wonder why they didn't keep her. I like Aliona as well but not many people seem to

Did I hear Master O call out just now that they reprieved Julian McDonald ?

Good grief .....

We are enjoying Strictly this year.

I think he standard is generally much higher than in previous years, and it should get more exciting as the weeks go by.

I like the new studio. The lighting effects are smashing.

My only criticism is that the "wonderful, wonderful" orchestra would be better if they kept strict time and got rid if the singers
I'm surprised the professionals haven't complained.
