What Are We Reading In January?

Postby JoM » 01 Jan 2021, 09:48

I’ve not had time to get very far into Michelle Obama’s book, and Tom bought me her husband’s new book for Christmas which I’m really looking forward to starting.

I finished my latest book last night so need to have a look on my kindle for something new to start today.

I have the Michelle Obama one on audible Jo but haven't got round to listening to it yet.

I just started Harry and Meghan Finding Freedom. It’s an elibrary book but I’m not sure how far I’ll get with it! :o

I've just downloaded The Ghosts of Christmas Past by Andy Conway. It's a timeslip novel, set in Birmingham New Street. No idea what it will be like, but it came up on FB and caught my interest :?

I'd rather read the back of a cereal packet tbh.

Wouldn't wish an ounce of harm to them, and I used to really like Harry, but have no time for his wifey. :

I decided on The Memory Wood by Sam Lloyd.

It’s an easy read and I can put it down. Started it last night and almost finished it.

I got several books for Christmas and am reading the first one - A Light that Never Goes Out by Keelin Shanley. She was a journalist and newsreader here who died of cancer last February, aged 51. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 and it came back in 2016. I almost didn’t get through the first chapter because of my own experience with cancer in 2020, but persevered. She started writing the memoir starting in July 2019 and her husband finished it after she died. Some of it reminds me of our Di’s final months

I wouldn’t read Harry and Meghan’s book even if it was the only book available to me!
