What are we reading in April?

Postby Ally » 01 Apr 2018, 06:24

I'm reading Penny Vincenzi's A Perfect Heritage.

I've just googled to see if she'd written any more after this one and she had. It also turned out it was her last one as she passed away in February. I didn't realise. :(

Oh gosh I didn't know that either, she was one of those who had been in my life so long, I felt I knew her :(

I've just started Pleasing Mr Pepys by Deborah Swift. It's a thriller, told from the POV of Pepys' servant, Debs.

That's exactly what my mum said in the car today when I told her Penny had passed away. :(

For years talking about books mum and I exchanged many, "have you read Penny Vincenzi's latest book?"

I remember years and years ago reading one of her books and, after it twigged I was hungry, on looking at the clock I realised I had been engrossed for well over three hours!
