Not an internet problem as I'm here on the kindle.
Pc usually connects on start-up but little pc symbol has red cross, then says sky xxx needs network security key to connect.
Have tried entering p/word that's on router, nothing happens.
Have rebooted.
Help!

I would suspect that it's a Sky issue and your computer for whatever reason lost it's connectivity to the router. My laptop does that at times, but what I get away with is going to the wireless connections, and either reconnecting if it's disconnected or if it's showing as connected (but not working) I disconnect from my WiFi and then reconnect; and usually that works for me
Very occasionally I've had to reboot the router, but that wouldn't be the case for you in this instance; given your Kindle was connected

One of the world's little annoyances, Di.
TalkTalk sometimes loses the direct connection so I switch to Wi-Fi for a while, then when I come back all is OK.
I used to do all the diagnostic stuff I was trained to do but it rarely showed anything amiss.

Lol Ok, will just put it down as One of Those Things
Meriad I'd done that too, took the network off and put it back on...if it happened a lot I'd be cross but it doesn't

Probably Windows was stuck in a state.
When you re-entered the password it reset the state but would not connect. On the next reboot it would then work.
I find this with Windows8 quite a lot. Although my Android Tablet was doing exactly the same thing to me on Saturday in motorway services. It would connect to my mobile phone wifi perfectly but none of the services wifi. The phone, on the other hand, connected to everything.
One of those file and forget situations.
