Update Chrome?

Postby Paddypix » 02 Nov 2014, 11:35

I'm getting a "Chrome is out of date" message asking me to reinstall. I'm always wary of changing something that is working well for me. Are there any problems with the latest version?

Have look at this, Liz, is your warning the same as the one on the site? http://botcrawl.com/update-google-chrome-virus-removal/

If it is you might need to do some work. I have checked out the links to CCleaner and Malwarebytes and they are OK but you might already have those.

I would also uninstall Chrome nd get the latest version from here: http://www.google.co.uk/chrome/ and set it to update automatically. You will lose all your password and form filling, but it is a small price to pay.

No it doesn't look like that Frank. It's a dropdown from the top right when I open Chrome for the first time in the morning. It doesn't happen every time. I'll uninstall and reinstall anyway. No point in taking any chances is there? I've got both CCleaner and Malwarebytes so I'll run them too. I'm very remiss about these things and haven't run them for ages now.

They are constantly finding critical flaws in every browser out there. The only real defence, beyond a very comprehensive AV suite is to constantly update. Just not when prompted to by a web page....
