Laptop being funny.

My laptop presents my home page OK, but after I click on an icon to open up, say, Vocal Voices,
it comes up about an inch offset, left to right, so that the top right-hand X for exiting the
web page is off the screen, so the only way I can exit the page is to show the desktop and click
the shut-down button.

When I click on the left-hand edge of the page, the double-headed arrow appears but I can only
move the edge of the display to the right, so cannot correct the display.

Any suggestions?

John, this might work if I am understanding what the problem is correctly:

Take your cursor up to a blank space on the title bar of the window in question. Click and hold the left mouse button and pull the window down from the top of the screen - it will shrink to become a smaller window - release the mouse button. You can resize this window by either reversing the operation just carried out or clicking the square in the top right corner.

Thanks, Frank. That's done the trick.

I find that when I left click in the top-most strip, above the address bar, and hold it down,
I can then move the display up, down or sideways at will.

This sounds like your display settings are in a mode where you have a "virtual" desktop which is bigger than the actual screen can support.

If you right click on the desktop and select screen resolution, what does it say for the screen size?

For reference, you can press Alt+Space Bar on any app and then you have a choice of M for move, S for Size, N for minimize and X for maximise. Useful for when the window bar winds up off screen. Once you have activated, for instance, Move, then you can move the window around with the cursor keys. Once it starts moving, you can then move it with the mouse too.

I use this a lot when I'm working on a Laptop with two screens. If I suspend/resume or hibernate/resume, it doesn't recognise the second screen is gone and it's the only way to get an app back which is on the ghost second screen.
