Moving to Windows 10 resets your default Browser

For all those techno questions

I did... Made me smile. Also made me remember (I have always known), just how many people know beans about Windows and let it take over and put things where Windows wants.

I, on the other hand, almost never allow Windows to put things in the default locations. So any, erm, less acceptable images will never find their way to the screen saver app to embarrass me...

WM you will also want this pearl of wisdom

For anyone that wants to remove the "Crap Apps", as I call them, open PowerShell as an Administrator and run the following commands:

Get-AppXProvisionedPackage - online | Remove-AppXProvisionedPackage -online

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage

I believe there is one other line which should be added to this

Get-AppXPackage -<username> | Remove-AppxPackage

Which should finally kill all but about 3 of the crApps.....

I saved it as a .ps script as you will have to run it Every Single Time you refresh the install....

Oh, thanks for that, Suff... a definite 'keeper'.

You would not happen to know if it works with W8.1?

My phone and tablet are all runing 8.1 to keep things all on one OS. They will go to W10 as and when.

I saved the same script for 8.1 but it failed. I had to open powershell, type the commands and work out what was going wrong. Then I typed the commands in by hand.

Then, of course, like a true techie, I forgot to save it all back to the script file. So it can be done and I believe the commands are almost exactly the same but I can't remember what it was. I think there was a bit of googling in there too. My 8.1 has only 3 crApps now.
