Adfoc us redirect problem

For all those techno questions

OK .... I think in the light of all that, and the fact that Master O has run a further three spyware scans tonight including CCleaner and found nothing, I'm going to get a techy in from my local computer shop to have a look at it.

No, WM, the DNS servers have not reverted back, they're still at Suff's settings.

At least I feel we've all had a crack at resolving it. As they said on the Minecraft forum, there comes a time when it's probably best to get someone in ....

I'll let you know what happens.

I'd try the Kaspersky rescue disk before getting someone in. If' it's a TDSS Trojan it will kill it. Why pay someone to do everything we've just done if the Kaspersky disk does it?

Fair comment, Suff.

Interestingly, this evening, it transpires that both Master O and I have not had a re-occurance of the problem. We are now wondering if one of the malware scans he performed automatically fixed it ..... I'm going to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

If it's a TDSS Trojan, it will come back on reboot. Nasty little things they are...

Just in passing......... for everyone's information.

Bleepingcomputer site is a good place to go for just about all the free anti-this and that tools you hear mentioned on the Internet, and all presented in easy to understand terms. It is well worth bookmarking for future reference. It is kept updated by people whose aim in life is to help keep us safe.
