No way am I ditching my fairly new, rock-solid and swift Acer Aspire 3 for a Mac.
Thus far Solus is looking good. You do not have to go GNOME or KDE as there are two other interfaces, Budgie and Plasma. For me Budgie is the best.
OK, having live-disked (USB) I am now going to dual boot from the SSD. I have done another partition and Solus will be first, then I will do the others.
IF I get comfortable I really will ditch Windows. I did find a problem with Brother drivers for my laser printer, but Brother has now caught up - allegedly. There is a Linux install tool in deb or rpm modes. We'll see. Oh, and my Freeview TV sticks can be a bit flaky. Some distros "claim" support but the sticks are old. Maybe I just need more modern ones.
