I have found out how to revert a file that comes up on LibreOffice as a 'colour chart' of backgrounds instead of a normal document, which, you may remember, was the reason why I started this thread. So in case anyone else meets this problem, here is the answer....

Click on 'Tools', then on 'Gallery'. That's it. Job done.

Well done. It’s always in there somewhere. I know I don’t read manuals. BUT. I have ALWAYS read a manual for something the same at some time in the past. Like the brand new dishwasher I plumbed in. Read the manual. Won’t read one again for a LONG time.

I have read a lot of manuals on computer stuff. Hence, today, if I can’t see what it’s trying to do without reading the manual or a book on the subject, it hits file 13 and I move on to something which was made for mortals and not immortals (or people who have no time in their lives except reading books)…..
