Vic, AVG not running correctly is a bit open-ended.

Does it not start when the computer switches on? Can it run scans - either scheduled or manual? Is it locking up your computer? Is it conflicting with other programs? When did the problems start? Were they after an AVG update or a Windows update?

Please help.

Hi ,doesn't run manually-starts but then stays in same place.

Not locking up computer

Not aware of any update -it usually tells if there available

Started about 9 days ago.

No conflict with anything else as far as I am aware

Thanks Vic.

Simple things first.

Open AVG and check for updates and install if available, then do a manual full virus scan. Instead of closing down one evening run the scan and go to bed, watch telly or whatever. See if anything turns up.

If you have already done that then do a full scan in Windows safe mode. To get to safe mode go to Settings>>>Update and Security>>>Recovery. Scroll down the right pane to Advanced Start-up and click Restart Now. When the computer restart you go through a series of menus 1. Troubleshhoot 2. Advanced Options 3. Startup and Settings 4. Description of Startup Options, click Restart. Now when the computer restarts opt for 4. Safe mode or 5. Safe mode with networking. Nest time it restarts - it will be in one form of safe mode - do a full manual scan with AVG.
