What is this flower?

I have a whole pile of these bulbs along the garden that runs long the deck. It comes from a bulb, so far I haven't seen any leaves, and it has flowered early autum, but could be late summer as its only just starting to rain, so maybe they just needed some water.

Please excuse all the weeds. Why is it that weeds don't need water?

After extensive google-webbing, searching for all combinations of red, flower, bulb, Lilly, etc, I finally found it to be a nerine called bushfire. Mil comes round today and said, "oh look at your nerines!" Note to self, ask the expert.
