That's how it strikes me MM, as a good price. I don't think that it will be on the market for long. As I said it's on a council estate, but it's not a bad one at all. If I was starting out, like Kaz says I would be in for it.
Cruiser, you do indeed. The cost of houses is why both parents have to work, to pay the mortgage.

Cruiser, pretty much impossible on one wage, as Crommers says it takes two incomes. It’s why my (single) 44 year old son is still renting :(

Kaz, five years ago we helped our then 30 year old son with his house deposit, or else he'd be in the same boat.

My sympathies Kaz. The houses down south are dearer too.
He was renting - I could not believe it when he said how much it was costing him. More than we paid on the mortgage. Now he has his own place his mortgage is costing him less than the rent did; the rent was so much (for a titchy little room in a shared flat) that he wouldn't have been able to save for a deposit.

The mortgage on my eldest's flat would be less than the rent, but it's getting a deposit together when even a small flat is upwards of 300k :?

This is MrsC's Uncle Harry and Auntie Sally's house. He's 91, she's 90 and they are downsizing. It is too much for them now, especially the garden. Harry doesn't want to go but Sally is happy because they are moving near relatives.

Oh that's a lovely home, but I can quite see why 90yr olds would need to downsize from it - so much upkeep!

D's place is quite large, she doesn't want to downsize and we don't want her to have to, but there may come a time :?

That's lovely home, but a little children home, not for 90 year olds. Lovely views too.

But I can understand not wanting to move.

Yes Jan, they have lived there for many years so it is a wrench to leave.
Probably for the best though. There comes a point where downsizing is sensible, I think.
