I mentioned upthread the corner plot bungalow in our estate which recently came on the market and sold within 3 days for £465K, as far as we know.

The property is of course currently empty, and I'm sorry to say that it was extensively vandalised overnight last weekend. All a bit of a shock. :o The vandals are known, a description is out, but they haven't yet been apprehended. :|

Oh dear, I hear you say. But don't forget .... this is Dorset. :D

The vandals are brown, furry and underground. From completely nowhere - and this is in the middle of the estate - around 15 molehills appeared overnight! We have the critters in the country park, but appearing out of the blue ravaging someone's front garden? Extraordinary!

I tell you this, all the neighbours are frantically keeping an eye out on their own lawns. Ossie has not yet resorted to sitting on the porch in a rocker overnight, shotgun on knee, Jed Clampett style ..... but we're not far off!
Whack-a-mole might be one of the neighbourhood street entertainments for the Platinum Jubilee ....

We have the little critters here too Ossie. Blasted pests.

We have resorted to metal poles, stuck in the ground, with six litre water bottles upended on top, rattling around in the wind.

It works, but we have to keep moving the bottles

Molly is under the impression that it's fun to pounce on them, when she can hear them underground. Hasn't caught one yet

Where’s Jasper Carrot when you need him? He did a brilliant sketch about moles

Having a laff.

Just up the road from us, had it built for next to nothing and now want to move, as she has upset most of the locals, foreigners

Another one, thinking their house is worth mega dosh.

It's in a small hamlet, near the beer delivery, so mega noisy.

They’re gorgeous houses though Jan!

This is Mark’s house over the road, I thought he might end up selling. He’s the bloke whose wife left him for the female dog walker a few months ago. It’s a shame he’s moving, he’s a lovely man.
