At last we are harvesting. The allotment still looks quite sad - the broad beans and runner beans are nowhere near as tall as I would expect them to be at this time of the year, neither is the corn. But at least the corn has corn on, the broad beans have beans on and the runners have flowers.
We have had lots of strawberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants and gooseberries. We are still harvesting rhubarb and are inundated with raspberries. I have frozen most of the fruit ready for jam making when the girls go back to school and I have more time.
We are also now harvesting - peas, mangetout, lettuce, radish, spring onion, beetroot, pak choi, broad beans and potatoes. The sweetcorn, leeks, onions, runner beans and french beans are all looking okay.
In the polytunnel we are harvesting peas and the tomatoes, peppers and carrots are coming along nicely. I have a feeling that all the tomatoes will turn red when we are on holiday though.
