My washing machine saga

I've always had Hotpoints and they have been fine.

Up until the current one when the part failed on it and it took me forever to get it fixed.

Its fine again now though.

Hotpoint used to be brilliant, I had a couple, but they are now made by Indesit and nowhere near as good

I think it's the luck of the draw these days

They are coming to fit the new door mechanism tomorrow, so noisy old stinky Zanussi gets to spin another load (or live another day)

Mine's an LG with Direct Drive whatever that is. I knew at the time what it meant because the SA explained it and it is what sold the machine to me. I think it's to do with it being silent. I've had it for a couple of years and I'm very happy with it. It cost in the region of £400 - £500 but I can't remember exactly. It replaced a very expensive Bosch which broke down after 5 years. I never pay insurance for household gadgets as I think you end up paying as much as would buy a new one.

That is what I like about the LG machines Paddy, the silence. My sister in law loves her's and I still think I will be tempted to pay extra and have one.

The man came to mend mine, was disgusted as the shoddy repair his colleague had done on Tuesday and took the parts away to report it to his boss. Fixed the problem, switched it on and 10 seconds later it blew the circuit board. He said they can cost over £100 so he said he will say the brushes and bearings are gone too, which they almost have it it so noisy and hopefully, fingers crossed they will replace it. I will get about £240 so I might put that towards an LG

Or they might just fix it again
