Cleaning steam irons

Postby cruiser2 » 08 Jun 2014, 07:30

The bottom of our steam iron has become marked. The iron is still serviceable.
Mrs.e wants to clean it. Have seen a solution of white vinegar and salt will clean the sole plate of irons.
Anybody tried this or other methods.

Well if you google it they all tell you to use toothpaste. We have also used that kitchen wizard stuff, but by far the best was the scraper thing that hubby uses on burnt bits on the ceramic hob. That brought it off the iron very easily.

Does it have a Teflon coating or just a stainless sole?
