Washing machine

Postby cruiser2 » 25 Jun 2016, 15:26

Our washing machine, which we have had over 10 years stopped working on Thursday. So I went to a local appliance repair shop. Made an appointment for an engineer to come this morning.
Also looked at a new one if the existing one couldn't be fixes or it was very expensive.
The engineer came at 9.00 a.m. Had to go and get a new pump. He also fitted new bushes on the motor which drives the drum. Total cost for parts and labour--£78.00 including VAT.
This is the first time it has stopped working. It is a Bosch. Will buy another if it breaks down again.
Hopefully it will last another ten years

a 10 year old Bosch was built to last... it's the newer (and cheaper) machines that weren't. Glad the repair was that cheap

My last washing machine was a Zannussi and the control board decided to stop working - it was cheaper to buy a new machine than to pay for parts and labour! utter madness really
