Vocal Voices

When I got home from work today Millie was looking very sheepish. You know when you just know they have been up to something but can't work out what!

Anyway, I fed her and then wandered upstairs to do something only to find a ripped up box of Celebrations and wrappers all over the S's bed. She had been into L's room and taken it out of her bin (leaving all the rest of the rubbish scattered all around) and then taken her booty onto the comfort of S's tiger look fleecy blanket.

I have no idea if there were any chocolates in the box but if there was they obviously got past the stricture okay as there was no trace anywhere in the house of it coming back up again. Anything else with lumps in comes back up again but I noticed the other day that she was quick to grab and swallow a malteser that L dropped on the floor and that went down okay.

She sneaked up behind me as I was cleaning it up, tail slowly wagging between her legs, ears down looking at me and then behind her as if to say "it wasn't me mum, but I know who did it".

Little monkey.

Be careful Debih, a tiny bit of chocolate won't hurt but it is poisonous to dogs, you don't want another emergency in a hurry There was a lady at the vet the other say whose little dachshund is still being treated after pinching some chocolate at Christmas!
Grapes and raisins are no-no's too, and onions - again a tiny bit should be ok but not always and in quantity will cause exactly the same as Minnie had

Some friends have two greyhounds. One night they left a half eaten block of Old Jamaica on the side, intending to put it in the fridge but forgot. The next morning they found the wrapper on the floor, empty obviously, and didn't know which had eaten it or whether both had tucked in so both dogs had to have their stomachs pumped - one, it turned out, was completely innocent.

She seems fine.

We have never given her chocolate but she has stolen it before and never had any after effects. The first Christmas we had her she stole all the chocolates off the tree.

And this Christmas, whilst regurgitating every meal, she managed to eat half of L's selection box whilst we were out and kept it down!

Chocolate obviously agrees with her!

But I will keep an eye on her, just in case.

Raisins are also poisonous to dogs. I only found this out when a friend's dog became really ill after she gave him some as a treat.
