((((((((((((((Di and Minnie)))))))))))))))

I think its a case of trying to remember that she really was very poorly and that it is going to be a long, slow road to recovery.

We still have some bad days with Millie - sometimes you can just see it in her eyes. You don't know what is actually wrong but you know something is.

That's it exactly Debih, they're trying to tell you and it's upsetting to not understand.
It's fine if she takes 2 steps forward and one back, it's trying not to let it be the other way round that's the worry ;)

It's a juggling act. A lot of IMHA dogs stay on a maintenance dose of the steroid, but because a) she was having such horrendous side effects and b) she recovered a huge amount in a short space of time, it was the vet's decision to withdraw it completely. She knew it was a short time, although it was a gradual decrease over 2 weeks, but was worried the side effects would kill her.
Now it's a question of trying the maintenance dose to see if it helps.
The hunger may be because she hasn't been having normal amounts of food and is feeling better. We've been increasing it only very very slowly, so that any adverse reaction wouldn't be too bad. So she's been having rice, and little bits of chicken, and a little bit of dog food (measured).
Today we've given her her normal amount of just dog food for breakfast (we'd already been giving her 3 small meals a day rather than the 2 she was on before, to help her stomach). So we'll see how she does on a full amount of food.
Just remembered Bb fed her so she didn't get the spirulina, I'll add that at lunchtime.
