Talk about a rollercoaster!

Postby Diflower » 01 Mar 2013, 09:48

Crying again - Minnie has played with her candy cane :D :D :D :D :D :D

For all of about 2 minutes, and she fell over when she dived on it - but she dived onto it :D :D :D

Edited to add - the vets just phoned.

Red blood count is up from 33 to 35 :) Still not up to 'normal' but steadily going up.

Protein levels up from 50 to 68 :D
That's in the 'normal' range, which is 55-80.
Wow!!

She is so pleased, we're to stop the Imuran and the steroid can go down to half a 25mg tablet a day (from a whole one) :D
She's already had the steroid today but from tomorrow that should mean much less hunger :)
Come on clever Minnie, now start acting more like you're getting better :)

Thats fabulous news Di. Well done Minnie.

Its quite amazing how they bounce back isn't it! I remember well that conversation I had with Dan on a Monday after a very bad weekend, sobbing on him whilst I told him that I thought she had reached the end of the road. Only to get a phone call from him a few hours later to say that she was doing amazingly!!!

Thanks all :)
I was thrilled about the candy cane but the best news is the blood/protein counts and the pills, the Imuran is scary stuff.
Hope, hope, hoping that a lot of the rest is side effects.

Thanks Kaz :)
No more playing yet, but still.
One of Imuran's side effects is lethargy/reluctance to move - how can they hope to get better while it's doing that to them - but a necessary evil, it's got her this far.

A roller coaster indeed! I've just read your other post and was feeling so sorry for Minnie and now I'm reading she's showing an interest in playing again!!! :D Brilliant news and the fact her medication is to be cut and her blood count is in the normal range is just fantastic-go Minnie!!
