I tend to agree with Shell - animals do pick up on stress, just like children do xxxx

They pick up on grief too - when my dad died, and then later on mum, Pepper was very attentive to me, snuggling up on the sofas and putting her head on my lap. Normally she is Mick's 'baby' and follows him everywhere, and then Becks is second choice, and then me, but for those times I came first. I found it really touching.
